Read why you should make Qigong part of your self-care routine!

Note: This is general knowledge and my personal experience with Qigong. I am not a professional practitioner.
One of my favorite new skills I learned over the past couple months is Qigong ("chee-gong”). What I love is that it slows me down to be in the present moment. It’s a great mindfulness activity to incorporate into your day-to-day. I feel revitalized after 7 minutes. I cannot believe the effect it has on me. It took me a few days to notice the actual effects. I was feeling calmer. I had no idea why and then it hit me, oh I’ve been practicing Qigong!
How does Qigong work?
According to the National Qigong Association, Qigong teaches individuals ways to preserve their vital energy, cultivate it through specific practices, and direct this energy in the body to maintain health, balance, and vitality. It is emphasized that a person uses this alongside balanced nutrition, adequate sleep, stress management, and moderate physical activity. Specific movements and breathing techniques are used to achieve this. Anyone can do this practice. The movements are slow and smooth. The breathwork is slow, long, and deep.

Why you should do it too!
Qigong has helped me and that is why I want to share this with you. You can implement it at any time of day and for just 5 minutes. This makes it simple for Moms or anyone to incorporate in their daily lives. You deserve time for yourself and to improve your self-care. This is one activity you can begin now!
